About Us

Monterey City Disposal Service (MCDS) has provided the highest-quality refuse and recycling collection services to the City of Monterey since 1963. Our mission is to provide the residents and businesses of Monterey with the highest-quality solid waste and recycling services to preserve resources, protect the environment, and contribute to making our community and the world a cleaner, safer place to live. 

At MCDS, we strive to meet local and global environmental challenges and proudly take our lead role. We encourage everyone to REDUCE the waste they make, REUSE and REPAIR items instead of purchasing new ones, and RECYCLE as much as possible. We encourage everyone to be creative and REPURPOSE what you have.

Take 68 South towards Salinas. 
Turn left on Canyon Del Rey (Highway 218).

At the fork, keep right.
