Monterey City Disposal Service strives to keep the same collection schedule throughout the year. However, some holidays, such as the Fourth of July, Christmas Day, New Year's Day, and Thanksgiving, require us to modify our schedule if they fall on a weekday. We are sorry for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding and cooperation.    

Note: Commercial customers and residential customers in a commercial area may not follow this schedule. Please call for your schedule.

fall and winter holidays

Thanksgiving, Christmas, & New Year's Day

In observance of Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day, collection will be delayed by one day for customers whose regular collection day falls on or after these holidays.

For residential customers, Christmas trees can be placed next to your yard waste cart for the first two weeks of the new year. All decorations, stands, and lights must be removed. Trees under 6' tall do not need to be cut. Trees over 6' must be cut in half. After the first two weeks of the year, trees must be cut and placed in the yard waste cart.
